by Robert W. Surridge D. Ed (Author)

Social commentary based on a 1907 cookbook published by the ladies of the Presbyterian Church of Kingston, Pennsylvania. According to Ruth Reichl, Culinary Editor, Modern Library, to fully appreciate a vintage cookbook, the challenge is not just to cook the recipes, but to "read through the recipes to the lives behind them." BUTTER SIZE OF A TURKEY EGG addressees this challenge by remembering the lives and times of the ninety-six ladies who contributed and published RECIPES. Including four-hundred and fifty of their everyday recipes.
