There are thousands of examples of players who fail to finish off a game because they miss a mate pattern. There are even hundreds of examples of top players. With this book I want you not only to know the dunk patterns, but also to be able to identify them in a game. That is why I have selected more than 40 dunk patterns and 1372 exercises for that sole purpose. Most of these exercises are from real games, taken from databases and a few created by me. Many are from games of the best players in the world, I say this to emphasize the importance of knowing and mastering each of these mate patterns, even if you have a high level in chess.
