Der Sammelband enthalt die Studien und Vortrage, die auf einem im September 1982 in Tubingen veranstalteten internationalen Symposium uber ""Das Evangelium und die Evangelien"" zur Diskussion standen. Die Beitrage behandeln nacheinander den Stand und die Methoden der Evangelienforschung, Jesu Evangelium vom Gottesreich, Werdegang und Eigenart der Evangelientradition, die Geschichte des Wortes ""Evangelium"", das paulinische Evangelium, Gattung und Profil der vier biblischen Evangelien, das Verhaltnis der kanonischen Evangelien zur griechischen Biographie, die Tradition der Agrapha (= in den vier biblischen Evangelien nicht uberlieferte Worte des irdischen Jesus) und Justins Anschauung von den ""Erinnerungen der Apostel"". Die Aufsatze bemuhen sich, einen Weg fur die Erforschung und theologische Wertung der Evangelien und ihrer Tradition zu bahnen, der aus den Aporien der radikalen Evangelienkritik herausfuhrt. This volume contains the studies and lectures that were discussed at an international symposium on ""The Gospel and the Gospels"" in Tubingen, Germany, in September 1982. The contributions deal sequentially with the state and methods of gospel research, Jesus' gospel of the kingdom of God, the development and nature of the gospel tradition, the history of the term ""gospel,"" the Pauline gospel, the genre and profile of the four biblical gospels, the relationship of the canonical gospels to Greek biography, the tradition of Agrapha (= words of the earthly Jesus not recorded in the four Biblical Gospels), and Justin's view of the ""Memoirs of the Apostles."" The essays seek to pave a way for the exploration and theological evaluation of the Gospels and their traditions out of the aporias of radical gospel criticism.

Author Biography

Peter Stuhlmacher wurde 1932 in Leipzig geboren. Er ist evangelischer Theologe und emeritierter Professor für Neues Testament an der Universität Tübingen.

Sein Buch Jesus von Nazareth--Christus des Glaubens wurde 1993 veröffentlicht.



Peter Stuhlmacher is Professor emeritus of New Testament at the University of Tübingen.
