Author Biography
Mel Vil was born on an island near the planet's Northern pole. Yet growing up there, even in the wilds of East Anglia, he was brainwashed with the idea that he was located at the earth's very centre. He grew older never knowing the power of geography. He would go on to discover that it had an effect on not only climate and travel, but also perspective and culture. This drove him abroad to understand the extent to which the northern temperate climate had engrained his political, social and economic reality. Moving from 'centre stage' meant putting his physical, psychological and emotional profile to the test of foreignness, a gauntlet he has so far weathered intact. Having returned from the tropics, he can be found today still in the harsh outside environment, less often battling through the tropical jungle than its urban counterpart.
