Author Biography

Dr. Tom Bellamy is a neuroscientist and honorary associate professor at the University of Nottingham. He earned his PhD in neuroscience from UCL in 2001 and was awarded an individual fellowship at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge from 2004 to 2010. For the following fourteen years, he focused on teaching and research at the University of Nottingham, until in 2024 he decided to pursue an independent career. He has published more than forty scientific articles, conference abstracts, and book chapters on esoteric aspects of neurophysiology, but his current work is focused on how basic neuroscience can help us understand human behavior. In 2017, he created the blog Living with Limerence, and he continues to write about the causes and consequences of extreme infatuation.
