Author Biography

About Karen Young Community-Builder, Leader, Educator Development Karen is an experienced fund developer. She has written single Proposals that have generated amounts ranging from a few thousand dollars, to well over $500,000. She has worked with a Development team to raise $7 Million over three years for a capital project, a team that raised far above that total! She has created signature fundraising events for various organizations, building teams that work together to raise funds. Karen also understands the granting process from a Donor perspective. She has served for more than five years on a Provincial Council working to give more than $16 Million in grants annually. Over the past 20 years, she has provided leadership in various Nonprofit sectors including (but not limited to) the Arts, Sport, Health and Social Services. Business and Education Karen's passion to help others inspired her to found an accredited business college in 1997 with one overarching goal: to give women and men the technical and communication skills necessary for their vocational success. In 2007 she shifted focus, but that big goal continues to be realized as individuals are given skills to succeed within their Organizations.
