"What a fantastically gripping middle-grade story about a young boy and his exploits in a beautiful, enchanted garden. The story was full of mystery and magic, with just enough suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat. I could easily visualise George's garden and his many friends he made there. I loved his relationship with Aunt Di, and the evil witch certainly made me shiver! A great story and an enjoyable read. I think this has the makings of an exciting series."Mary Anne Yarde, author of The Du Lac Chronicles.

"I really liked this book because there were lots of amazing characters, and I also liked that there was a unicorn. I always wanted to read more and more every night because it was very exciting. I hope that Angeline writes another book so that I can find out more about the characters and the story." George, aged 8

"My son loved this book, and it was a pleasure to read it to him. I also thoroughly enjoyed it myself, so it would be suitable for older kids too. The characters are enchanting (literally), and the story fascinating. I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for the sequel." George's mum, Jen

"I want to read the next one." William, aged 11

"I loved the evil witch the best." Mary aged 10

Author Biography

Angelina Kalahari has worked for over twenty-five years as an actress, stage director and operatic soprano, performing around the world, from opening the busking scheme on London Underground to a recital at the Royal Opera House and everything in between. She holds degrees in drama and opera and in 2005 she was invited to Buckingham Palace by the Queen to join in a celebration in recognition of her contribution to the music, culture and economy of the UK. Storytelling, which formed a big part of her childhood, became an inherent element in her performances, and continued to live in her heart. She never stopped writing down her stories. When, due to illness, it became clear that she would no longer be able to share her voice in the way she had before, writing became the obvious and perfect outlet for her creative expression. Born in Namibia and having lived all over the world, she currently lives in London, UK, with her husband, fur cat baby, and a smallish herd of dust mites.
