Author Biography
Shaneschia Kay was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut. No stranger to the atrocities that come along with living in poverty stricken area, Shaneschia managed to survive in an area filled with frequent drug dealing, robberies and killings. Staying strong, Shaneschia's writing has been strongly influenced by her experiences in such an environment. At the age of 12, Shaneschia found that she had a passion for writing. On rainy days, as the sound of water pouring down could be compared to that of hammers hitting the ground with clouds covering the bright sun, Shaneschia would grab her notebook, lay down on her bed, and write poetry for hours. In high school after winning an award at a poetry contest, Shaneschia was convinced that she could pursue writing. She found that anything, if interesting enough, motivated her to write, something that still holds true to this day. Currently a medical billing and coding college student, Shaneschia continues to write not only because she wants to, but because her passion doesn't allow her a choice. Writing is a love that drives her, a way of expression that she hopes to pass on to her readers.
