What happens after a tragedy?
That is a question countless people across history have had to find their own answer to. And for a small group of survivors after a devastating kaiju attack leaves Tokyo leveled and irradiated in 1954, they and a whole country had to find out. A grieving nurse struck with survivor's guilt, a naval officer wrongly blamed for abandoning his men, a former war reporter who had to witness the whole event, and a scientist widowed by Nagasaki re-experiencing it all. At the least however, as Japan rebuilds, the nation could breathe knowing the horrific titan of destruction was dead.
