Lola is my best friend. She's playful and mischievous and a lot of fun. But she wasn't always this way. When we first became friends, she always seemed sad. She wouldn't want to leave the house and when she did,
she'd jump at every noise and curl up into a ball. But with a little love and persistence, I helped her to stop being afraid and to start seeing life in a new way.

Author Biography

Chiara Valentina Segre
was born in Italy. After graduating with a degree in biology she worked for several years discovering the secrets of cells and helping cancer research. As a child, she invented stories to tell her classmates and dreamed of becoming a writer. Her first book, Gedeone, was published in 2010. She loves cats, fireworks and blueberry tarts.

Paolo Domeniconi
was born in Crevalcore, an Italian village famous for its frogs and fog. After studying art, he worked for several years in advertising before starting to work on children's books.
