Tengtou Village has provided a model for practices that can turn agriculture into a vigorous industry, make farming an attractive profession, and transform the countryside into a home for rural residents to live and work in peace and contentment. It is useful to explore not the number of successful endeavors the village has undertaken, but how it became the vibrant, prosperous village we see today. This sort of exploration can shed light on how Tengtou's rebirth can be reproduced in more widespread rural revitalization across China's vast rural landscape. Author Biography

Jianyang, Fujian native Wang Hongjia was selected in 2004 to serve in the first of four groups of talented personnel in the national propaganda and cultural system. His works have won the Five-One Project Award from the Central Propaganda Department, the Lu Xun Literature Award, and the China Book Award. Xiao Yulin, a native of Xiangyang, Hubei is a member of the Chinese Reporters Society and author of collections of news reviews entitled Han River Tide Views and Han River Discussion, among other works.
