Author Biography

Yelena Litinskaya was born in Moscow. She graduated from the Moscow State University with the Master's degree in Slavic Languages and Literature. In 1979 Yelena immigrated to the United States, where she received another Master's degree in Library and Information Science. She had been working at the Brooklyn Public Library for 30 years. Yelena returned to writing in 1980's. Since then she has published six books of poetry and short stories: "Monologue of the last snow" (1992), "In search of me" (2002), "At the canal" (2002), "Through the time distance" (2011), "From Spiridonovka to Sheepshead Bay" (2013), "Games with Muses" (2015). One can find her translations, poems, short stories and articles in literary journals, magazines and almanacs in the US, Europe and Canada. Yelena is one of the editors of the Internet Literary Magazine "Gostinaya" (gostinaya.net). She is also the president of the Brooklyn Russian Poetry Club.
